When Amelie was teeny tiny she used to absolutely love drifting off with white noise in the background. I used various apps, even Spotify, and they seem to do the job okay… But white noise in bear form?! In the words of Amelie – “Please Ta”! She’s got a lovely caring nature and enjoys looking after her four thousand and eighty one teddies so I knew she’d be a big fan of the myHummy Lena bear*.
I just bloody love talking about skincare. There’s something about jotting down (or even talking aloud) about ~those~ products that your skin loves.
Moving to Wiltshire certainly hasn’t stopped us from date night-ing in Bristol. Me and Cy have been together for just over 2 years now and we’ve had our fair share of date nights (most of which were in Bristol). Ranging from a romantic breakfast at The Ivy to a chilled afternoon at Allstars playing pool, Bristol has most couples covered. Date nights have become especially important since having Amelie as it’s a rare time where we get to spend quality time being Chlo and Cy and not mum and dad for a few hours!
It goes without saying that teething is one of the worst things to watch your baby go through. After their vaccinations, of course. In all fairness, Amelie has powered through the last four teeth but the first two really got her down (we’re only 6 teeth in at 16 months). I thought I’d do a quick round up of the products I swear by for when those pesky little toothy pegs are poking through, and hopefully they’ll work for your little one too!
It’s that time of year again where I’m up to my neck in unticked lists of things to do, but I have got Amelie’s Christmas Eve box sorted! As I mentioned in my post last year, my family are really into small gifts on Christmas Eve just to heighten the festivities so I made Amelie a box that can be used year after year. Please don’t feel like you have to include this tradition just because every other mum does, it’s just something I’ve chose to do!
Besides the bobble hat and unlimited long-sleeved vests, there are a few other bits and bobs that I will always make sure Amelie has in her wardrobe. She has countless pairs of leggings and a dungaree dress for every season, but there are few extras that I add in for the colder months. I’ve gone through a few of my favourite sites for baby clothes and rounded up my top three items for each category.
After an impromptu story on how to creatively stop your toddler from having a meltdown, I thought I’d write a good ‘ol blog post on my tips and tricks. Well, more so – Amelie wanted my hair grips, I took them away, she had a tantrum, I improvised. Since then, I’ve experimented with a few other at-home goodies to help with her development and thought I’d share a few!
If I’m going to be honest, isn’t it the most common misconception that having a baby makes your relationship stronger? Romance and parenthood certainly hasn’t come in the package that me and Cy were expecting.
During my mad search for mum accounts when I found out I was pregnant, I stumbled across the lovely Laura (laura_and_isaac) and I had a nosey on her gorgeous little boy, gorgeous home, gorgeous photography, gorgeous… everything! We’ve been in touch for as long as I can remember, and when she announced that she’s going to be starting off with newborn and children’s photography, of course I was set on her doing Amelie’s cake smash shoot.
I can’t quite believe that I now have a ONE YEAR OLD. Eeek. I always feel cliche saying it, but time has flown by! Loving Amelie has been so easy since she is the most friendliest and lively little baby I’ve ever known, and each month has just got better and better (with teething and tantrums aside).
